LEAST SUSPECTED

Least Suspected

Terms

These are the terms for leastsuspected.com and for buying a season of Least Suspected. They are meant to be read, so they are short.

Who you are dealing with

Least Suspected is an independent podcast, written and produced under the pen name Owen Brandt and operated from Ontario, Canada. The contact address for everything — support, corrections, refunds, legal notices — is hello@leastsuspected.com, and it is read by a person.

The show is free. What you can buy is time.

Every episode is released free in the public feed, one a week. Buying a season gets you all of it immediately, plus the transcript of every episode and a page for every document the season is built from. You are paying to skip the wait and to support the next season, not for content that is otherwise withheld forever.

What you get when you buy

  • Access to the paid pages while signed in, for as long as the site exists.
  • A private RSS feed that carries the full season to your usual podcast app.
  • Both are tied to the email address you bought with.

One payment, and it is not a subscription. A season is bought once and kept. There is nothing that renews and nothing to cancel.

What you may do with it

Listen, on any device you use. Quote it, link it, and use the transcripts and the record pages the way you would any other published source — citation is the entire point of this show.

What you may not do

Do not publish your private feed URL, or pass it around. It is the key to a paid season and it identifies your account. We check each feed for the number of distinct places it is being used from; a feed that is plainly being shared publicly may be reissued or revoked, and we will email you first. Beyond that: do not re-upload the episodes, and do not sell them.

The voices are not real

Every voice in this show is synthetic, including the narrator, and this is disclosed at the top of every episode and on the sales page before you can buy. They are not impersonations of the people quoted and they are never used for a child involved in a crime or a trial.

What the show is

Every narration paragraph cites a record — a police report, a court order, an inmate file, a contemporaneous news report — and the tool that builds the audio refuses to render a paragraph that does not. That is a method, not a guarantee: records can be wrong, and so can we. If a line is wrong, write to us with the episode and the timestamp and we will correct the transcript and say so on the page. It is journalism about matters of public record, not legal, investigative or professional advice.

Refunds

There is a 24-hour, no-questions refund on a season. It has its own page.

Availability

One person runs this on one server. We will keep it up and we cannot promise it will never be down. If the site went away permanently, the episodes would remain in the public feed.

Liability

The show is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer where you live. If we have got something badly wrong for you, the practical answer is the refund policy above and an email that a person will read.

Changes

If these terms change, the date below changes. A change never applies backwards to a season you have already bought.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
