In a women's prison in Marion County, Florida, there is an inmate numbered 156489. Where her record has a column for a release date, it holds three words instead.

Calyx was sixteen. Beau was thirteen. They were her children.

In the days afterwards, reporters went to everybody who had known this family — a cross-country coach, a colleague from the Army intelligence division in Munich, a woman who had grown up alongside her in a town on the Mississippi. Not one of them could make it fit.

Least Suspected is narrative true crime built from the documents. Season one is three episodes on the Schenecker case in Tampa, told out of police reports, court files, an inmate record, and a notebook read aloud to twelve jurors.

The narration is a synthetic voice. That is disclosed in every episode.
